Profile

My name is Carlos Herrera and I was born on 1986 in Salamanca, a really beautiful city in the west of Spain. After finishing high school, I moved to Madrid, to study Telecommunications at Universidad Politécnica. Probably this was the biggest change in my life (until now, at least), living in a big city, leaving home, friends...

Once in Madrid, I was invited by my classmates for one week trip to the beach, and I don't know why, I said yes. I've heard something about international students in the same trip but I really didn't know one word about this association. Finally, beach trip resulted being Sunny Spain Reloaded and I shared 7 days with people coming from 10 different places in Europe. I started to feel EESTEC Spirit before having heard anything about EESTEC. It's not the regular process, but it worked for me.

Back in Madrid, in the University, I started to be regular in LC Madrid HQ and I got involved in many  tasks (International Bureau, Webmaster, CP...), because I'm usually the guy who always says “YES” to every single crazy idea.

When I arrived Ljubljana for congress,  being part of International Board was not in my mind. But I really like to find solutions for problems, probably that's the reason for me to study Engineering. EESTEC has a big challenge regarding financial issues, because we're growing so fast. During the congress, once I had understood the challenge, I started to find solutions. After having some ideas, I realized I could do a good job as treasurer, and here I am, with this fantastic team, being part of EESTEC International board.

My main goal this year is starting a co-operation process between LC's for improving quality and diversity of EESTEC events. We have a really good network all over Europe and it's time for starting to take profit from.
