ESA
European Space Agency
ESA employs engineering staff with degrees in the following academic disciplines:
- aerospace engineering
- physics
- communications engineering
- electrical engineering
- mathematics
- mechanical engineering
- product assurance engineering
- software engineering
- systems engineering
Depending on their academic background and experience, staff may be employed in one of the following engineering disciplines: research and development/project support, project engineering, operations, data exploitation and systems engineering.
After obtaining initial experience of working at ESA, there are a number of different career possibilities open to engineers. Some may prefer to evolve to the management or management-support side. Others may be more attracted to a more specialised technical expertise or want to branch out into broader systems-related work.
